Giving Back To The Community
At Gilliatte we are deeply grateful for our long term success. As an integral part of honoring our founder’s commitment to treating all like family, we believe in giving back to our community. Each year, Gilliatte helps a wide variety of charitable service organizations. Whether offering cash donations, in-kind services, or hosting fundraising events we’ve had the opportunity to be “partners-in-good” with many effective and uplifting nonprofits.
Though we have supported many worthy causes, over the years one recipient has been central to our philanthropic efforts. We look forward to hosting our 31st annual golf outing benefitting St Mary’s Child Center in 2017. We expect this year’s event will mark cumulative donations to St Mary’s totaling over one million dollars. Originally a home for orphaned children, St Mary’s has evolved into an exceptional preschool program for local children ages 2-5 living in the direst of circumstance. The children are transported, taught by loving specially trained staff, and served nutritious meals. Our gratitude to St Mary’s harkens back to founder Gerry Gilliatte’s own father’s years as a ward of St Mary’s long ago. No deeper honor was ever bestowed to Gerry than when it was announced that the Fort Benjamin Harrison location was to be re-named “The Gilliatte Building.”
